Why We’re Building a BTC Resource Hub
Turning workshops into lasting tools, and ideas into action — one resource at a time.
When we launched Borders Tech Connect, the goal was always bigger than a single event. We wanted to give people tools, not just talks and build something that could grow, evolve, and stick around.
Over the past few weeks, our first set of no-code workshops showed what that looks like in action. From setting up databases in Airtable to building lightweight, usable apps in Stacker, we’ve seen participants move from curiosity to capability in a matter of hours.
These sessions weren’t one-offs. They’re the start of a repeatable format, one that lets us blend teaching, experimentation, and problem-solving. It’s flexible enough to suit students, businesses, and anyone in between. And it’s built around a simple but powerful idea:
Digital tools should feel practical, achievable, and relevant, not intimidating.
We’re creating a space on this Substack to support that idea. The Resources section is where you’ll find:
Workshop recaps and learning materials
Example builds and tool walkthroughs
Reference templates and Notion pages
Reflections, stories, and small wins
Our intention is that each new cycle, whether the topic is automation, cybersecurity, AI, or collaboration, will leave behind a useful trace: a blueprint others can pick up, adapt, or take further.
The format is simple:
One themed meet-up to explore ideas, tools, and stories
Three practical workshops that turn ideas into action
A growing resource hub that captures what was built, learned, and shared
This isn’t about documentation for documentation’s sake. It’s about digital independence, helping people build and understand the systems they rely on, even if they’ve never seen themselves as “techie.”
Thanks to everyone who joined our first cycle. There’s more to come, and now there’s a home for it all.
Welcome to the BTC Resource Hub. Onwards.
